Under the direction of the Jail Administrator, the employee is responsible for the jailer functions of the Sheriff’s department while on shift. The duties of the Shift Supervisor Correctional Officer will be to assist the Jail Administrator with managing the jail and its line officers on shift. Implements directives and programming as assigned by the Jail Administrator. Motivates, directs and holds line officers accountable for the daily operations of the jail. Responsible for inmate housing assignments and immediate line level discipline of inmates. Responsible for the operational control and security of the County Jail. Admission and release of State/County/City prisoners. Transportation of inmates to other jails and medical treatment facilities. Responsible for providing information to County officers and other agencies.
